Sobre la libertad y el aplauso: Aristóteles, Hobbes, Berstein y Spinoza en perspectiva

Abstract

The present philosophical essay is self-oriented to discuss an issue that has concerned other scholars for long time; the role played by fears as a mechanism towards totalitarianism and freedom declination. The fact is that, this has been an historical matter in a major part of civilizations and a recent debate emerged after the WTC attacks in New York as well as the posterior reactions of United States in Middle East. Under such a context, we strongly believe that Aristotle from Stagira, Thomas Hobbes and Baruch de Spinoza’s contributions are more than important for understanding our own situation in modernity.
