Abstract
The present paper is aimed at debating critically the contributions and limitations surrounding the study of fears and anxiety in ancient and modern philosophy; even though both seem to be concepts that dialogue each other, there is an important gap in the way as to what they mean. In a world wherein people are prone to travel for experiencing news realities, it is often the otherness a figure that merits to be approached in the line of western cultural values. Foreignism and hospitality constitute are two nuanced phenomena that allows travelers a passage from security of what they know to the uncertainness of unknown.Downloads
