Certidumbres de arena: La globalización y sus múltiples fantasmas

Abstract

This article asserts that globalization represents a radicalization of modernity; as a result, it is impossible to escape from it. However, such a radicalization is deepening old contradictions and international conflicts, especially regarding the raise of poverty as a global phenomenon and the war on terror that is destroying half a century of struggle favoring human rights. Simultaneously, nowadays neither is possible to uphold any theoretical certainty because reality is crashing and throwing away traditional approaches to understand the current status about the international system.
