Abstract

The present short paper explores the main contributions and limitations of three well known philosophers who in different times had focused on the fear as a linking aspect that resolve the tension between civility and nature. Of course, Aristotle, Thomas Hobbes and Robert Castel are concerned with questions related not only to the fears as a process of identity but also in an ancient unresolved tension between civil and nature in human beings.
