Max Horkheimer y la filosofía
Abstract
In this paper we aim at presenting the basic philosophical lines of argumentation guiding the theoretical-philosophical work of Max Horkheimer in between 1930 and 1946. Our presentation is carried out in discussion with the interpreters that see Horkheimer, in comparison with Adorno and Marcuse, as an anti-philosopher. We try to show the eminently philosophical character of his work and the particular relationship he established between philosophy and critical theory. On the other hand, this paper also aims at clearly presenting the main commitments of Horkheimer’s work, showing thus the deep coherence and continuity of his thought, in discussion with the exegetes that see a radical break between what he wrote in the thirties and what he wrote in the forties. It is also, at last, the intention of this work, to serve as an introduction to –and a reading guide of– Horkheimer’s wide written production.Downloads
