La universidad y la globalización alternativa: justicia cognitiva, diversidad epistémica y democracia de saberes
Abstract
The main aim of this paper is to analyse the extent to which the contemporary university can build an epistemologically more just and supportive world. This is done from a critical and descriptive point of view by taking as a frame of reference the epistemology of the South of Boaventura de Sousa Santos. I pay attention to the role of the university as a form of counter-hegemonic globalization capable of avoiding the waste of knowledge and practices which are silenced by dominant scientific productions. Furthermore, this capability is also about promoting intercultural experiences of mutual recognition based on cognitive justice and epistemic democracy.Downloads
