Relationship between the Index of Control of Corruption and some social, economic and institutional variables
Abstract
Corruption is currently one of the main concerns of Spanish and one of the major problems of the world. This article discusses the harmful effects of corruption in certain social, economic and institutional variables. For this, the Index of Control of Corruption (one of the six Indicators of Governance developed by the World Bank) has been used as measure of corruption, and the New Institutional Economics (a field of Economics that is relatively recent but that has gained importance and interest in recent years) has been adopted as theoretical approach.Downloads
