Trabajo y Cultura: Su mutua interacción y evolución
Abstract
The purpose of this work is to do an ethnology of work as a social activity and as an epistemological concept since its appearance during the Stone Age until it was consolidated in Ancient Greece. The activity and the concept have not always been associated to one another and their mutual representation has varied a great deal along man’s history. The word “labor” derives its epistemology from the negation of Greek Otium, in the sense of creative leisure and, for many primitive societies, no word existed to designate a purely laboral activity. The concept was embedded in a broader one, “to live while doing”.Downloads
