Nazario Carriquiry Ibarnegaray's prominence in the establishment of share companies
Abstract
So far, studies on the establishment of share companies as the first major industrializing impulse of the nineteenth century, between the years 1840-1848, have focused their objective on general numerical analysis, but the relevance of capitalists, bankers, traders, who made possible the establishment of numerous commercial companies over a small period of years has not been analyzed. This article discusses the importance that the Navarrese banker Nazario Carriquiry may have in this period and, according to the studies carried out, his presence in the establishment of commercial companies surpasses those of other capitalists such as José de Salamanca, Jaime Ceriola or Joaquín de Fagoaga.
