Abstract
The performance of a local seismic network in determining microearthquake hipocentral coordinates and origin times is analyzed in this article. The main characteristics of a computer program, based on l-Iypoinverse (Klein, 1978) and aimed at evaluating the efficiency of this kind of networks, are also described. The proposed program allows us to estimate the contribution of every P or S phase to the hypocentral solution. lis application to two networks previously studied, confirms the utility of the modifications introduced and underlines the influence of the criterium chosen to assign weights to observations. Finally, the new program is applied to real cases of natural and reservoir-induced seismicity.Downloads
