Abstract

The Analysis of Surface Waves method is a non destructive procedure to determine the thickness and te shear wave velocity of multilareyed systems, based on the propagation of elasdc waves in te soil wben a dynamic load is applied on te surface. This paper explains the use of this technique as well as its application to evaluate improvement methods of te soil. Some sites, with poor geotechnical characteristic soils, to be used for foundarion of different structures were chosen for this proyect. Several tesIs of surface waves were carried out in the ground to check the posibilities of te Analysis of Surface Waves ín order to quantify te improvement achieved by the treatment of the soil. Por this aim te results of these tests carried out before and after the treatment were compared.
