Abstract

Several methods to estimate focal mechanisms of earthquakes are shown in Uds paper. They correspond to kinematics models of seismic sonrees and point sources. The methods presented are: Eault-plane solutions using the signs of first motion of P-wave; methods based on modeling P wave-form and empirical Oreen functions to estimate the source time function; spectral analysis to determine the dimensions of tlie soerce aud the inversion of seismic moment tensor.
