Método Avanzado para la Evaluación de la Vulnerabilidad y el Riesgo Sísmico. Aplicación a la Ciudad de Barcelona

Abstract

This work summarizes the participation of the city of Barcelona in the European project «RISK-UE: An advanced approach to earthquake risk scenarios with applications to different European towns» which consisted on defining and applying methodologies for the seismic hazard, vulnerability and risk assessment in seven European cities. The seismic hazard assessment was evaluated using both deterministic and probabilistic approaches both in terms of intensity and spectral acceleration values. The vulnerability of Barcelona’s building stock was evaluated using the vulnerability index method and the capacity spectrum in order to generate various seismic risk scenarios for the city.
