Oceanografía operacional: un nuevo reto.
Abstract
A new concept has been minted: Operational Oceanography, the activity of systematic and long term routine measurements of the seas and oceans and atmosphere, and their rapid interpretation and dissemination. This concept arise from the more and more pressing need from many different sectors: industry, service, policy making, etc., besides the scientific one, of the establishment of a system of ocean observation similar to the meteorological one. The main international organisms related to the ocean, atmosphere, climate and global change, as well as other important World conferences support and promote such a system. With the purpose of fostering it and learning how to profit from it, several internationals programmes have been created. Their scientific plans has been prepared and the experimental phase initiated. 1.Downloads
