Abstract

Currently ionospheric data are available via Internet through different World Data Centers. One of these databases has been developed by the University of Massachusetts-Lowell. Measurements of ionospheric characteristics (foF2, foF1, M(3000)F2, etc) and electron density profiles obtained from digisondes extended around the world are available on-line by means of the software designed by this Center. GPS observations obtained from the worldwide network of receivers are also useful to study the ionospheric behaviour. Many studies and applications can be developed from these two data sources. This paper shows briefly studies which were recently published by the authors of this work.
