The Legal Translation in the Institutional Context: The Fidelity between Cultural Identity and Institutional Ideology

Abstract
Legal translation can be defined as the transposition of a source legal language into a target legal language, given that the language reflects the cultural identity of a community according to Jean-Claude Gémar, Deborah Cao for her part affirms that the language by default reflects the legal culture of a community. However, when legal translation is contextualized in an institutional framework, it is subject to an ideology governed by a national or international institutional organization, where the notion of fidelity would be at the crossroads of cultural identity and institutional ideology.
