Abstract
This article deals with the ways of expressing time in Spanish, Slovak and Catalan. The aim is to find the similanties and differences between these three languages, which could serve as a reference when the Spanish-speaking students are learning Slovak. The questions we ask are: What time is it? and At what time? We find more similarities between Slovak and Catalan in the expressions of kactions of hours. In referring to whole hours there are hardly any differences among the three compared languages. In Slovak the differences stand out in the use of the verb to be - byt ' and the plural genitive case of the noun hour - hodín.Downloads
