Order and Images in the Middle Ages

Abstract

Order is a fundamental concept in Medieval universe wich brings together many other essential elements for individual and society. This article reflects on that concept and discusses the image from the point of view of the spectator. It analyzes how the Order was presented to people through artistic iconography, closely related to preaching. Finally, it becomes a way of legitimizing the Feudal system.
