El Archivo del Monasterio de Santa María de Nogales en el Tumbo de Astorga (1639)

Abstract

This article tries to study the way of organization of a monastic archive of XVIIth century through the análisis, codicologic and of con-tents, of its cartulaire. Cartulaires, although they are not an exact reflec-tion of the archives they belonged to (since they register documents, not books), they allow us to approach to the structure and functioning of themselves. Also, similar to another cases, like ours, they let us to know the archivist’s personality and work, his tools (abstracts, keywords, to-pographic index, etc.).
