Some laws of Desamortización in monasteries and convents during the thirties promted further laws in the sixties which directly affected the bibliographic and archival patrimony. Such a valious patrimony had been preserved by the Cathedral for ages and after the confisca-tion were sunk in an abandoned state. Cuenca’s Cathedral Archive recorvered from so sad situation with hopeful perspectives by designating its first archivist out of a competitive axamination in order to open all that archive treasures to researchers.Downloads
