El vino en la moneda griega: buscando interpretación y significado a su iconografía
Abstract
The relevance of iconography in Greek coinage is indisputable, as can be inferred from the data resulting from a study where we attempted to identify the meaning of different wine-related iconographies. Considering the fact that Greek coinage was widely divulged throughout the Mediterranean cultures, we must pay heed both to its economic and its propaganda value, as the latter was also one of the uses it had for the poleis. It is quite clear that Greek coins were full of economic, political and religious symbolism.Downloads
