Abstract

This article has two objetives. The first one is to explain the mesures taken by the Supreme Council of the Inquisition in order to safeguard its documents while trying to protect inquisitorial secret too. The second objetive of this article is to expose the case of a trusted man that breaks the rules and sells information from the Council’s archive. That is Gaspar Isidro de Argüello, idely known as Secretary of the Council although he never obtained such position due to those events.
