The reorganization of the documentation of the public notary office of Dos Hermanas from 1662-1663
Abstract
In the middle of the 17th century, after a long and turbulent period (1633-1660) in which up to fourteen notaries succeeded one another in ownership of the public notary of Dos Hermanas (Seville), the notarial documentation was reorganized, which it had been left in a lamentable state, the result of that instability. This reorganization, the first of which there is documentary evidence, would be carried out by the auxiliary staff of the notary's office, and had a great impact on the subsequent work of this institution, still maintaining the division into files that was made for that occasion.
