Abstract

This article is about the imitations in bronze of the denarius RRC 443/1, known as the “Caesar's Elephant”, of C. Julius Caesar (cos. I 59 BC), made in the treverian oppidum Titelberg of the late Roman Republic, and presumably used to pay the Gallic auxiliaries.
