Abstract
The purpose of this paper is considering the different components of intellectual capital, that is, human capital, organizational capital, technological capital, relational capital, and social capital, in an individual and aggregated fashion, exploring how they influence firm technological innovation. From an integrative approach made up from several research streams as the Resource-Based View, the Knowledge-Based View, the Dynamic Capabilities Approach, and the Intellectual Capital Based View, we pose that: (i) the different components of intellectual capital positively influence firm technological innovation; (ii) their joint influence, through interactions, can also improve innovative capabilities; and (iii) each component and interaction may have different effects on the different kinds of innovation (whatever it will be product/process based or radical/incremental innovations).Downloads
