Río de Janeiro: Cuerpo y latido de una ciudad
Abstract
From the song Garota de Ipanema, this paper analyses the way how a tune becomes the me¬tonymy of a city. A composition that was revolutionary at that time, because of its topic, its tune and its performers, and that ended up becoming a utopic metaphor of Rio, its beach and, by extension, of Brazil. The song transgresses its initial message and becomes a false metaphor of the city.Downloads
