Urban Narratives of sexual harassment. Memories, feelings and meanings from women in Mexico City
Abstract
The objective of this work is to think of urban life through narratives told by women about their daily lives in the city. In order to present the results of the research, this work analyzes different narrations referring to sexual violence directed towards women in public spaces in urban areas. This work explores the memories, affections and significance that women express in their narrations, as well as the testimonies they give about their daily experiences when traveling around the city. This text describes the main matters related to symbolic and quotidian sexual violence that women have to face in an urban context and the way they describe their experiences when giving their testimonies; in order to comprehend how women live and move around the city, and how they know, experience and imagine the city they depict in their stories.Downloads
