Miguel Ángel Asturias as a Literary Architect in "Legends from Guatemala" and "The President"
Abstract
Since the development of the art of rhetoric in the Greek and Roman Antiquity, memory and architecture have been closely related. Miguel Angel Asturias, who loved to present himself as “el Gran Lengua”, the spokes man of the Mayan people, cultivated this connection between memory and architecture. In this article Legends of Guatemala and The President serve as examples of his “literary architecture and urbanism”.Downloads
