Abstract

The Republic of Argentina, with a continental area of nearly 3 million km2, has an abundance of hot springs (some 10,000). Medical mineral waters of all kinds can be found, including some which are very unusual. At the same time, thanks to the huge expanse of the Argentine territories, very different climates can be found. These hydrological conditions mean that the nation has enormous potential to develop spa therapy and improve public health. This article gives a summary of the main hot springs, with their location, altitude, the composition of the waters, classification, current spa infrastructure and therapeutic indications.
