Abstract
We studied the efficacy of two formulated based dermatological preparations obtained from the peloid salts generated by the mineral water "La Capuchina" from Lanjaron spa: Moisturizing Emulsion and Face Mask. We determined degree of efficiency through three skin bioengineering techniques: corneometry, cutometry and sebumetry on 47 healthy volunteers with a mean age of 38.5 ± 8.6 years. The results showed that daily use for 28 days Moisturizing Emulsion improved by 20.4% (p <0.001) skin moisture. Also, the application of the Facial Mask on alternate days for 28 days decreased 22.7% (p <0.001) skin distensibility, ie increased skin firmness, and increased a 2.9% (n.s.)gross elasticity, net elasticity of 9.9% (p <0'005), but increased the plastic modulus of viscoelasticity a 13.8% (p <0.001). Similarly, skin fatigue fell by 8.9% (p <0'005). In conclusion, topical application of formulations on the basis of mineral water peloid generated by "La Capuchina" from Lanjaron Spa, improves the overall condition of the skin, helping to preserve and improve both degree of wetting and biomechanical properties of it.Downloads
