Abstract

This paper studies the Myth of Arachne in Julio Cortázar’s literature, especially from his first writings to Rayuela, with some references to later texts. Understanding myth like a dynamic system of symbols (G. Durand), we analize its transformations and significances in Cortázar. On the one hand, femme fatale, incest, oppression or custom; on the other, the new order of Mandala.
