Abstract

Over the last decade the Spanish labour market is undergoing profound changes in the composition of its workers, first as a result of the arrival of large numbers of foreign immigrants in times of economic growth, later by the effects of unemployment due to the intensity of the economic crisis. In this context, we focus our attention on the population daily mobility, particularly in commuting, analyzing the changes between 2001 and 2011 in Barcelona and its metropolitan area.
