Abstract

The term of sustainable development has turned into the obliged reference of the public policies and of the international cooperation. It has been imposed by the worry of the rich countries about the emergency of certain countries and zones of the South and coincides with the increasing influence of the ONG. The sustainable development is a product of the globalization and the symbol of the advent of a world conscience. This article tries to analyze what it is behind this denomination and specially the scanty worry of the implied actors by the poverty, the egoism of the rich countries, the giving up of the fight against the social inequalities and the reappearance of the strategic revenue. The development is an unfinished reality since the countries of the South are often vulnerable and dismantled, which poses the problem of the need of the economic growth, though a new model of development is necessary. If the protection of the environment is an imperative, the preservation must be a dynamics to avoid the risks of xenophobia.
