Abstract
This essay announces the discovery of a group of 37 drawings by Charles Percier (1764-1838) for a villa project commissioned by the 6th Marquis Marialva (c. 1775-1823) during his embassy in Paris (1807-1823), datable to 1818. After a brief introduction to the project (for which Percier developed at least three formal solutions
and variants), the essay analyzes 12 views that we believe document the “final” project, i.e., the one that Marialva would have approved and wanted to implement, after various modifications, with his architect. The essay focuses on the provenance of the drawings and the architectural representation choices, arguing in favor of the existence of a project C, not documented in the corpus of the Historical Archive of the Museu de Lisboa - Palácio Pimenta de Lisboa (hereinafter ASML, DES.5552-5589), which we hope will emerge soon.
