Abstract

Since the Second World War the US has been considered an external balancer in Asia for decades. In the current situation, as the US and the PRC are fighting for the hegemony in Asia, that condition might be changing. Different conflicts in the region, in particular that of the Senkaku/Diaoyu Islands might show this change.
