Constructing National Power in Evo Morales´ Bolivia (2006-2014)
Abstract
Considering that by 2014 President Evo Morales has fulfilled two periods as Head of State in Bolivia, and that he has been elected consecutively for a third mandate (2015-2019), in a context of economic wealth, political stability and relatively high growth, it seems pertinent to evaluate the process of power building in Bolivia. This interest originates particularly taking into account the accelerated growth of Bolivia’s GDP and the subsequent growth in defense spending, all of which has happened while a new elite storms the internal political scene with the aim to expand the country’s borders towards the Pacific under the argument of vindication.Downloads
