Abstract
The role of intention in the interpretation of texts and artworks is one of the most debated topics in contemporary aesthetics. Intentionalists provide their reasons, which are refuted by anti intentionalists. Between these positions there are hypothetical intentionalism and moderate actual intentionalism. In this paper we analyze all these views, their strengths and weaknesses and we propose moderate intentionalism as the best provisional solution.##submission.format##
