Philosophy, modernity, tradition and history: analogies between Martin Heidegger and T. S. Eliot
Abstract
This article considers the relationship between statements made by Martin Heidegger regarding Philosophy, history, past and tradition, and some analogous topics from the literary field propounded principally by the poet and critic, T. S. Eliot. We will focus on four themes: reinvention of the canon, methodological reconsideration of the past, attention to the form of presentation and questioning of one’s own discipline.
