Religious freedom: a tool at the service of development cooperation?
Abstract
Approaching international cooperation and development from the perspective of the human rights system is a determining factor when it comes to focusing on human development. In this sense, we also take as a reference a somewhat unknown aspect of foreign policy in cooperation: the religious factor. On many occasions, the religious factor has been an element of tension. In order to avoid these possible conflicts, we understand the need for religious actors to intervene in order to recognise religious freedom and avoid conditions of discrimination on religious grounds.
