Vigencia de la integración andina en el contexto de las negociaciones internacionales
Abstract
The author makes a fine-tuned, though careful, analysis on the causes that led to the huge success of globalization theories in Latin America, specially those rosy pictures of globalization funded in myths and wishful thinking. First, the article deals with the world current geopolitical scenarios (unipolar armonization, uni-multipolar system, multilateralism and open regionalism) and then, it focuses on the challenges faced by Latin America in the mid run. A well balanced view of the efforts to integrate the politics and economics of the Andean Region is also provided, although in a very complex context. Finally, some of the strategic options regarding the economic roundtable taking place in Latin America are analysed, these negotiations affecting the Andean Community if is to be fully integrated into the international system.
