Propuestas de actuación para la lucha contra el hambre en Centroamérica: enfoque nacional-regional y enfoque territorial-rural
Abstract
In the present article, the authors analyze the evolution and present context of the worsening food and nutritional insecurity in Central America and they emphasize the urget need materialise the political commitment into actions to fight hunger in that region. Once analyzed hunger figures and their actual causes, they review basic principles and key guidelines to reduce differences between current statistics and the commitments acquired in the first Millennium Development Goal: to reduce by half the proportion of people who suffer from hunger before 2015. The strategic guidelines are focused on territorial and national level, with the general objective to scale up the scope and coverage of food security interventions.
