El nuevo enfoque de las relaciones de la ue con el África subsahariana: de Lomé a Cotonú
Abstract
After the ending of Lomé in 2000, the new Cotonú Agreement contributes to reinforce the linkage between the commercial and development european policies. The new frame of relations between EU and Sub-saharan África established by Cotonú is based on the traditional combination of tecnic and financial assistance, togeher with reciprocal commercial relations that end the preferential treatment granted for decades. These new approaches reflect that the Economic Partnership Agreements are the new instruments of the EU to fight against poverty in sub-saharan countries. This linkage between poverty alleviation and commercial regionalization means a new approach of the european cooperation policy, that can achieve good results in terms of human development, but nevertheless also generates uncertainty.
