Abstract

This paper analyses the current post-war rehabilitation context of Angola, after the end of its civil war in 2002. The paper emphasizes both the windows of opportunities and the many challenges and threats existing in regard to the goal of building a sustainable peace, an inclusive political system and a human development model for the majority of the population. As a conclusion, it is predicted that continuing of serious socio-economic inequalities and the unsatisfactory political evolution over these last years threaten the chances of an effective reconciliation and could cause further tension and conflict in the future.
