The paper emphasizes both the windows of opportunities and the many challenges and threats existing in regard to the goal of building a sustainable peace, an inclusive political system and a human development model for the majority of the population. As a conclusion, it is predicted that continuing of serious socio-economic inequalities and the unsatisfactory political evolution over these last years threaten the chances of an effective reconciliation and could cause further tension and conflict in the future.
