Demonología en la Nueva España: Fray Jerónimo de Mendieta y el Demonio
Abstract
In this work we analyse matters related to the presence of the devil during the evangelization of America. In the first place, we establish a certain systematization of previous theological demonological thought, and then follow up with the work of the Franciscan monk Jeronimo de Mendieta. The objective is to understand the importance of the concept and representation of the devil in the evangelization process that took place in the New World, as well as appreciate the manner in which they influenced the way the monks represented the Indians.Downloads
