Abstract

The monopole of providing European goods who had the trade houses of Sevilla broke up in the last decades of the 16th century, when the traders of Ciudad de Mexico acquired their autonomy on gathering financial capital, by mean of fitting up the mining and sale of oriental goods in Peru. In the article are presented the problems which confronted the Consulado de Cargadores de Indias and to the Consulado de Mexico for imposing the prices of Carrera de Indias goods, and Metropoli authorities efforts for setting up a trade fair in which are established the price of most of the Europeans goods by mean of an agreement among the representative of the Andalucia and Consulado de Mexico trade.
