De jesuitas a franciscanos. Imaginario de la labor misional entre los indígenas chaqueños
Abstract
The aim of this paper is to rebuilt the image of the indigenous population of «Chaco Argentino» through the analysis of writings and visual documents produced by the Franciscan missionaries during the «Segunda Evangelización» to Chaco. Previous information is possible to be found in the writings coming from the jesuitic missionaries related to the same indigenous groups. For this reason we also analyze the most important jesuitic documents to understand «persistence and change» between two perceptions, under the idea that the images are the result of particular historical and cultural contexts.Downloads
