Abstract

Following a brief introduction, where the fundamentals of the various cryptogram composition methods are explained, the author elaborates on the historical evolution of cryptography in Latin America, analysing the chief methods used by several famous personages as Hernán Cortés, Pedro de la Gasca, José de Sucre, Simón Bolivar, etc., from Modern and Contemporary Ages, given that despite the fact. That the genesis of Spanish-American cryptography occurs on Spanish soil its most splendorous period takes place during Emancipation.
