Armed Forces and Militarization of the National Guards on the Southern Border of Argentina (Buenos Aires province, 1862-1879)
Abstract
In this paper we analyse how the Argentine State managed to monopolize control of the armed forces along the nation’s southern border, by studying the contribution of each force to the offensive/ defensive frontier military system and the militarization of adult men, of recruitment age for the active National Guard, in the countryside of the Province of Buenos Aires.Downloads
