Abstract

Our knowledge about what happened during the wars of the revolution has been enriched in recent years. The incorporation of other analytical perspectives led to the emergence of new research questions, which were, similarly, still worked on using a known corpus of documents, but interrogated in a different way. However, this historiographical renewal still has clear gaps. One of the central topics that has not been fully explored has to do with the recruitment for the revolutionary armies. This paper proposes to reflect on the possibility of carrying out a research project based on the affiliation records found in Sala III of the Archivo General de la Nación. Furthermore, taking into account other experiences, we raise the possibility of developing a Public History project based on the survey of this documentation and the development of a historical research project.
