Abstract

This study examines the question of jurisdiction in the kingdoms of the Indies from the perspective of a specific approach to reading the sources. Based on the rubric of one of the titles of the Ordinances of Audiences of 1563, the categories of jurisdiction and office, as well as the essentially personal nature of jurisdiction, are reviewed in their cultural context
